Planning Manager

Located in Los Angeles County, the City of Long Beach is home to a population of 490,566. The City's Director of Development Services is currently seeking a Planning Manager to complement a department dedicated to transforming California's fifth largest city.
As a key member of the Development Services Management Team, the Planning Manager oversees a staff of 28 FTEs and a budget of $3.7 million. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in bringing technical innovations and leadership to teams, and possess an impressive track record of customer responsiveness.
The new Planning Manager will also be a results-oriented professional who exhibits superior communications and people management skills. At least five years of supervisory experience in a similar setting with comparable responsibility is expected. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
